Review
Clearly written...[This book] should prove of substantial help for anyone wishing a better understanding of the covenant concept as a central thrust of the biblical message. -- R. O. ZORN, vox Reformata
Robertson has achieved a rare balance of clarity and simplicity while interacting with other viewpoints and incorporating the insights of modern scholarship . . . Many Bible students long for a readable and reliable book that gives an overview of the whole Bible. This is it! -- JOHN H. WHITE, Bible Newsletter

- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2024This book changed my life from being a Dispensationalist to Covenant Theology thirty years ago. One of my favorite books!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2023This book is one of the few theological works that will truly deepen your understanding of the Bible from beginning to end. Used as a textbook at some seminaries. Dr. Robertson lives in NC and is still teaching and ministering in wonderful ways.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2021Robertson is an author that I have trusted for a long time as a student of the Bible. He addresses some of the most difficult subjects very plainly for the everyday student of Scripture. I recommend his work for anyone who wants to know more about God's revelation of Himself in the whole of Scripture through the biblical theological subject of 'covenant'.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2020This title was a very good explanation of covenant theology. Others have highly recommended it to me, and rightly so. Descriptions are provided of the various Biblical covenants. There's also a chapter distinguishing covenants from dispensations. At the end of the book, Robertson begins with a moving account of how OT passages applying to Israel have been fulfilled or are being fulfilled in a non-dispensational manner. He sputters at the end, with an anti-climatic conclusion that leaves a doubtful dispensationalist unconvinced. He does well but could have had done a bit better. I give it four stars, recommending it for anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of covenant theology.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2023Perhaps a bit technical this is an excellent book on Covenant theology. I highly recommend this book and encourage a slow and thoughtful examination.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2021Make sure you read this and have a pencil to write and comment in the book, and a Bible at the ready (load a Bible on your phone if you haven’t already and be prepared to be “googling”). I hope you have several “wow” moments like I did. Christian— you need this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2021I consider this to be one of the most comprehensive and valuable books on God's Redemptive promise and fulfillment in Christ! I have given copies to most everyone in my family and close friends. I believe it adds a needed and clear foundation for understanding God's character and love for His people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heavy-going.
This is not a book for the average reader. It is quite scholary and needs close and careful reading. Some of the things written were beyond me.
The title is not entirely accurate and is misleading. It is not about Christ but the covenants.
The Covenant of Redemption made within the Trinity is not included - it only concerns itself with those made with man. All this covenant gets is a few words with a comment that it will not be included.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply loving it. Learning so much about my covenant ...
Simply loving it. Learning so much about my covenant making and keeping God. The only true God. The God of Scripture.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Christ of the Covenants
Outstanding outline on God's historical interactions with humanity and creation. A true 'philosophy of history' with its climax in the person and work of Christ.
